1.How Hawkeye Created Moon Knight's Signature Weapons

A Moon Knight and Hawkeye crossover is in the realm of possibility.

With the incoming arrival of Moon Knight on Disney + on March 30th, fans are ecstatic about the latest hero from the Marvel Universe coming to life on screen.

The arrival of his series comes not too long after Hawkeye's series and the two share a key connection in the comics: Hawkeye created Moon Knight's weapons.

This begs the question of whether or not their shared comic book history may play out in the MCU's future , especially with both shows coming out relatively close together.

In the West Coast Avengers #23 by Steve Englehart, Al Milgrom, Romeo Tanghal, Christie Scheele and Tom Orzechowski, Hawkeye finds himself trapped in Ancient Egypt during the year 2490 B.C.

While battling against the forces of Kang the Conquerer as Rama-Tut, Clint encounters the mighty God of the Moon himself, Khonshu.

Clint gained favour with Khonshu because he made weapons for the people opposing Kang as his variant, Rama-Tut.

Clint crafted boomerangs, darts, and throwing irons made from ivory. Hawkeye's rationale regarding the weapons was that not everyone would be adept at archery like he is, so he made projectiles that were reflective of the time he was in.

The comic also reveals that Marc Spector received the same weapons that Hawkeye made and have been passed down through the generations. Because the weapons were favored by Khonshu, they became the weapons he presented to anyone he chose as his Fist.

It's these same weapons that Moon Knight inherited thousands of years later while Clint lives within the current, same timeline.

A Moon Knight and Hawkeye crossover is the realm of possibility Kang the Conqueror has already been introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Loki set up the storyline that established variants, and time travel has been initiated in films like Endgame.

Hawkeye and Moon Knight's proximity for their respective releases along with variants being introduced in Loki may also hint at a crossover on the horizons.

As new teams of Avengers start to debut within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it's possible that Clint will start the West Coast Avengers.

If that comes to fruition, then the introductions of Kang and Moon Knight will definitely yield a storyline that could include Clint making the original weapons that get passed on to Moon Knight.

In the comics, Hawkeye making Moon Knight's weapons was pivotal to Moon Knight joining the Avengers.

These plots could play out onscreen whether Moon Knight ends up joining the Avengers or a newly formed West Coast Avengers. With his connection to Hawkeye, Marvel could pair the two as teammates in a West Coast Avengers film or series.

2.Moon Knight’s Dark God Is Closer Than Anyone Thought – And That’s a Problem

In Moon Knight #8, Marc Spector's patron god makes a surprising reappearance, indicating that he may soon become a serious threat.

WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for Moon Knight #8, available now from Marvel Comics.

Marc Spector, aka Marvel's Moon Knight, has come a long way over the past couple of years. From fighting alongside the Avengers to forging a brand new path under the banner of his Midnight Mission, Moon Knight has effectively settled into who he wants to be.

However, all of Marc's personal growth came at the cost of imprisoning his patron god, Khonshu. As it turns out, however, the moon god isn't as far away as Moon Knight thinks he is, and that could be a big problem.

While Marc Spector is incarcerated thanks to Wilson Fisk's ongoing war on New York City's superheroes, the other Fist of Khonshu has taken it upon himself to ensure that the Midnight Mission continues its good work. Doctor Badr, aka Hunter's Moon, might have his differences with Moon Knight, but in his eyes they are still brothers under the blessing of the moon god.

In fact, it is Khonshu who Badr calls on to help him defeat Stained Glass Scarlet, a classic Moon Knight villain who achieved literal godhood after her untimely death. The fact that the moon god can be summoned is a surprising development, considering Spector just recently sealed him away.

When Khonshu and Marc had a vision of Mephisto taking over the world, Moon Knight stole the powers of Earth's Mightiest Heroes in order to usher in the Age of Khonshu. This staved off the threat of Mephisto for some time, but it also allowed the moon god to nearly take over the world himself out of an ever increasing state of paranoia.

Moon Knight then invoked the power of the Phoenix Force to defeat Khonshu and seal him away in Avengers #37 (by Jason Aaron and Javier Garron), but Moon Knight #8 (by Jed MacKay, Alessandro Cappuccio, Rachelle Rosenberg, and VC's Cory Petit) has just revealed that the moon god is not as far away as Marc had hoped.

When Hunter's Moon realizes that he cannot defeat Stained Glass Scarlet on his own, he prays to Khonshu, and the deity manifests in the "between-space."

Despite his admittance to being imprisoned, the moon god easily dispatches his opponent, teaching Stained Glass Scarlet a painful lesson in godhood.

While it is certainly a good thing that Khonshu put an end to her budding reign of terror, the fact that he appeared at all is concerning to say the least.

Considering the threat that Khonshu has already posed, as well as how powerful his Fists have proven themselves to be, it's hard to imagine anyone standing in his way should he ever elect to make a full return.

Additionally, Hunter's Moon being able to manifest Khonshu even in part with such ease makes the situation all the more dire. If a little bit of prayer is all it takes for the moon god to physically appear, there isn't much stopping him from being once again unleashed on Earth.

To top it all off, seeing Khonshu dispose of another god while supposedly imprisoned is quite possibly the greatest reason for concern, as it paints him as extremely powerful even while restrained.

Khonshu may have returned to inadvertently help the Midnight Mission, but that doesn't make his appearance any less unsettling.

Luckily, Hunter's Moon hasn't made any effort to free his god while Marc is unavailable to stop him. Still, it's probably nothing more than a matter of time before Khonshu does make his inevitable comeback, and once again becomes a serious force in the Marvel Universe.

3.A Forgotten Moon Knight Villain May Break the MCU - But How?

One of Moon Knight's most obscure villains is poised to ruin the hero's life in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and he isn't alone.

Oscar Isaac's Marc Spector is poised to bring a whole new brand of action with him into the MCU, and it looks like one of his most obscure comic book villains is along for the ride as well.

Arthur Harrow might not count himself among Moon Knight's more well-known enemies, but all of that is about to change in what will undoubtedly be the worst way possible for his nemesis.

After receiving terrifying visions from his patron god Khonshu in 1985's Moon Knight #2 by Alan Zelentz and Chris Warner, the hero traveled to the heart of the Yucatan in the hopes of stopping whatever evil awaited him.

There he met Doctor Victoria Grail who was already on the hunt for the rogue scientist Doctor Arthur Harrow.

A specialist in pain theory, Harrow had been using unwitting locals as subjects in his grotesque experiments. As he was carrying out his work at the behest of the shadowy organization O.M.N.I.U.M., Harrow created an army of unfeeling warriors that Moon Knight was forced to flee from. Even worse, Arthur Harrow himself was ultimately able to escape the encounter unharmed as he was last seen meeting with the enigmatic chief of O.M.N.I.U.M.

The fact that this was Harrow's sole appearance in the comics doesn't make it easy to guess what direction Ethan Hawke's portrayal of the character will be headed in, though none of them are any good for Marc Spector.

Trailers for upcoming series have made it clear that Ethan Hawke's Arthur Harrow will be playing a role more akin to a cult leader than mad scientist.

Glimpses of the MCU version of Arthur Harrow walking amongst throngs of awestruck, kneeling followers help to paint a fairly clear picture of the direction he is headed.

This could easily point to the MCU's Arthur Harrow being something of an amalgam of comic book versions of himself and Patient 86 aka Sun King.

A pyrokinetic worshipper of the Egyptian sun god Amon Ra and leader of his own sect of violently devout followers, Sun King became obsessed with Moon Knight early on.

Sun King's mission to destroy the hero quickly became a fervent religious effort on the part of his followers, who even went so far as to try and destroy Moon Knight's patron god Khonshu directly.

Sun King would eventually make a heroic turn and become a valuable albeit incarcerated ally to Moon Knight, the road that lead there was nothing but devastating.

If the small screen adaptation Arthur Harrow does indeed combine elements of both of these characters, Moon Knight could be in for the fight of his life just as soon as he enters the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Both Arthur Harrow and Sun King's respective armies were a formidable threat to Moon Knight, but the former's painlessness coupled with the latter's fanatical devotion would be genuinely horrifying.

As unlikely as it is that the sprawling story of O.M.N.I.U.M. or cybernetically enhanced zombie soldiers is to appear in the MCU'S Moon Knight, its version of Arthur Harrow doesn't seem to need either of them to pose a serious threat to the titular hero

Then again, with the primary Marvel Universe's version of the character having left so much mystery in his wake, the possibilities are endless. With any luck, whatever he has in store for Marc Spector won't be more than his dark-alter-ego can handle.

5.An Obscure Moon Knight Villain Just Became Marvel’s Latest God

Moon Knight #8 reveals the birth of a new god out of the death of a classic villain, possibly changing everything about Marvel's established pantheon.

WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for Moon Knight #8, available now from Marvel Comics.

The Marvel Universe has never suffered from a shortage of villains for its heroes to face off against.

Over the years, many antagonists have gone through incredible changes in an effort to present greater challenges for the defenders of the world, and few heroes know this better than Marc Spector, aka Moon Knight.

In his most recent adventure, Spector has witnessed the transformation of one of his more obscure enemies, Stained Glass Scarlet, into something akin to a terrifying new god.

While Moon Knight is caught in the midst of Wilson Fisk's personal war against the city's heroes, his rival, Hunter's Moon, has no problem filling in for the hero.

This still doesn't prepare him for the return of Scarlet Fasinera aka Stained Glass Scarlet, who was believed to have died years ago.

As Hunter's Moon discovers in Moon Knight #8 (by Jed MacKay, Alessandro Cappuccio, Rachelle Rosenberg, and VC's Cory Petit), his enemy has not only come from from the dead, but has also been transformed into a deity.

First introduced in 1981's Moon Knight #14 (by Doug Moench and Bill Sienkiewicz), Scarlet Fasinera burned her abusive father alive before becoming a nun and later marrying and having a child with a violent small-time criminal.

Her husband was killed and her son grew up to become a criminal who Scarlet ended up killing when she took on the life of a vigilante.

Her own life came to a tragic end when she resisted capture by the authorities, with her story becoming something of an urban legend.

After her death, Scarlet gained a literal cult following in which she was worshipped, and the faith of her followers has now enabled her to ascend to a position of godhood.

With Khonshu by his side, Hunter's Moon was able to temporarily banish Stained Glass Scarlet, although it was revealed that she can never truly be killed.

This is a new and terrifying development that calls into question the rules of deification in the Marvel Universe.

This suggests that all it takes to become a god in this world is the faith and worship of others, which in turn means that virtually anyone could access the same level of power if the situation was duplicated.

It is conceivable that Moon Knight himself could be heading down this path as well, considering his recent overcoming of the god Khonshu and the admiration he has recieved from his community after starting the Midnight Mission.

Although the specifics of becoming a deity in the Marvel Universe have not been definitively established, this issue makes it clear that it all begins with genuine faith and followers.

By this definition, there are other adversaries in Moon Knight's life who have the potential to ascend to a place of godhood, such as the Sun King.

With this revelation also comes a near guarantee that the Fist of Khonshu will eventually have to face another foe who has ascended to the level of godhood.

It also stands to reason that Spector himself may one day transcend his life as a mortal servant of the god of the moon in favor of becoming a god in his own right.
