 HELLO EVERYONE!

WELCOME BACK TO THE AVENGERS!

TODAY IS THE

50th BLOG DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, for an event this special we also need to have a special blog, I introduce you:

15 EVILEST VERSIONS OF ICONIC MARVEL HEROES:

Some of Marvel's most iconic heroes have evil versions of themselves who can exist in other timelines and universes.

Marvel has given readers amazing heroes, but the publisher has never been scared to give readers other versions. Marvel didn't debut multiverse stories in superhero comics, but they went further with them, using books like What If...? to show the darker sides of everyone's favorite heroes. Since then, Marvel readers have seen many evil versions of their favorite iconic heroes.

Of course, some versions are more evil than others. Many huge stories have revolved around the worst versions of iconic heroes imaginable. From alternate universe tales to mainline ones, readers have seen their favorites twisted and evil. Being a superhero isn't easy, and it's made worse by the myriad ways that heroes can fall into darkness. Whether it be manipulation by enemies, ancient magic, or good old-fashioned alternate future duplicates, fans have seen many of their favorite heroes fall to villainy. Many of Marvel's biggest icons have become evil, challenging their friends and endangering the cosmos.

15. Malice

It took years for Invisible Woman to get the credit she deserved. She became a more powerful member of the team, but this also made her much more dangerous when she transformed into Malice. Malice came about when the Fantastic Four were battling the Psycho-Man and the Hate-Monger. He used his emotion-controlling weapon on Invisible Woman, birthing Malice.

Malice attacked the team, and they were able to defeat her by the skin of their teeth. Malice was everything evil inside of Susan Richards and resurfaced several times over the years. Expunged by a future version of Franklin Richards, the Malice entity was presumed destroyed when it was placed inside the Dark Raider and he was tossed into the Negative Zone.

14. Warrior Madness Thor

Thor stands tall among Marvel's strongest characters. Luckily for his friends, he's rarely turned evil, something that's actually pretty common throughout the Multiverse. However, rarely isn't the same as never. Thor has gone evil before when he was in the throes of Warrior Madness, caused by constantly trading powers with Odin. The many personalities that had been forced on Thor over the years didn't make things any better.

This berserker state increased Thor's power threefold, making him more dangerous than ever. Thor attacked the Infinity Watch, whose members held the Infinity Gems and wrested the Power Gem from Drax. Thor was more powerful than ever, his rage nearly unstoppable. However, thanks to Silver Surfer, Doctor Strange, and Thanos of all people, Thor was cured.

13. Archangel As Apocalypse

Archangel was transformed into the Horseman of Death by Apocalypse, but little did he know what that would mean. As a member of X-Force, Archangel felt himself slipping to evil in their bloody missions and it was revealed that when the team killed a clone of Apocalypse, it triggered an Ascension Protocol meant to transform Archangel into Apocalypse.

For a time, Archangel became the new Apocalypse, commanding Clan Akkaba, the Final Horsemen, Dark Beast, and Genocide. The group destroyed a small town in Montana, remade the land into Tabula Rasa, and battled X-Force. Psylocke cured Archangel by stabbing him with a Celestial Life Seed, but it took years for his old personality to truly reassert itself.

12. Dark Phoenix Apocalypse

Cyclops is a stalwart member of the X-Men, leading the team and the mutant race through the worst times. After Scarlet Witch depowered mutant-kind, Cyclops found himself trying to keep an endangered species safe. Attacked from all sides, and split by a schism with Wolverine, the mutant race was at its weakest when Cyclops came up with a new plan. The Phoenix was coming, and he was readying Hope Summers to be its host.

Wolverine warned the Avengers, and a war started between the X-Men and Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Eventually, Cyclops, Emma Frost, Magik, Colossus, and Namor got a portion of Phoenix Force. It all started out altruistically, but the continuing war against the Avengers caused them to go dark. Cyclops was last the one standing, having absorbed the other's portions of the Phoenix Force. Cyclops killed Professor X and became Dark Phoenix, only defeated by the combined X-Men and Avengers.

11. THE MAGUS

NOTE: Do not read this if you haven't seen GUARDIANS OF GALAXY VOL.3.

Adam Warlock has often stood as a bulwark against the foulest evil, but in an alternate future, that wasn't the case. This Adam Warlock decided the best way to protect the universe was to conquer it. Starting the Church of Universal Life, he created an army that marched across the universe in a fiery blaze of conquest, forcefully converting anyone who stood against him.

Soon, Adam Warlock decided he had to make sure that his future was the one that happened. He and Adam had many battles, and the Magus even gained the Infinity Gauntlet for a short time. The Magus is everything terrible about Adam Warlock, and every time he's appeared has been a cause for dread.

10. Dark Beast

Beast has joined the ranks of Marvel's most ruthless heroes since the Krakoa Era began, but readers have seen him much worse. It all started in The Age of Apocalypse when readers were introduced to that universe's version of the Beast. Hank McCoy worked directly under Mister Sinister, creating Apocalypse's soldiers and doing twisted genetic experimentation.

Dark Beast escaped that universe and found his way to 616. Since then, he's battled the X-Men multiple times, working with Onslaught, the 616 Mister Sinister, Archangel, and on his own. A scientist who believes the ends justified any means, Dark Beast took glee in the suffering he inflicted on others.

9. Dark Phoenix

Jean Grey was the patron saint of the X-Men, a paragon of virtue that everyone loved. That's why The Dark Phoenix Saga shocked readers so much. Jean becoming the Phoenix gave her greater power than ever, and seeing her fall to temptation was a shock. It was compounded after readers watched her not only smack around her friends but devour an entire solar system.

Marvel may have retconned the Dark Phoenix's identity, but the being still wore Jean Grey's face. Her shocking actions cost billions of lives and changed the X-Men for years to come. The Dark Phoenix changed the way the team looked at Jean herself as well, fearing what she could become.

8. The Maestro

The Hulk is no stranger to doing evil things, but there's very little malice behind it usually. Over the years, though, readers have seen several future Hulks who are pretty bad. The Hulk of the Wastelands from Old Man Logan comes to mind, but he doesn't have anything on the Maestro. The Maestro killed every hero and villain in the world and kept trophies.

The Maestro became a terrible despot, and eventually, the Hulk himself was brought from the past to fight him. Since then, he's appeared multiple times, sometimes winning and sometimes losing. The Maestro is a threat like few others; the Hulk is frightening, but one whose life is devoted to destruction and evil is even worse.

7. Pym-Tron

Hank Pym has had many costumed identities over the years, but one of his more recent was a fusion no one expected. Pym was the creator of Ultron, and the mad android's ire was always focused on Hank. During the attack of an older, but no less deadly, model, Hank was forced to merge with Ultron to end his threat and the two floated off into space.

However, he didn't stay gone forever. Pym-Tron, as many call the composite being, was the worst version of Pym. That's saying something for someone who created a robot to attack the Avengers and had a Skrull impersonate him. Pym-Tron was the worst of Hank mixed with Ultron, but Pym eventually breaks free of his son.

6. Scarlet Witch

There are many controversial Avengers, but none more so than Scarlet Witch. For Wanda Maximoff, fans haven't had to go to alternate universes to get the most evil version of the character. 616 Scarlet Witch has done terrible things, and the worst version of her was from Avengers Disassembled.

Scarlet Witch had attacked the Avengers before, but never so drastically. She killed three Avengers in this attack, making it her worst one yet. Worse, she was completely under her own control. Scarlet Witch wasn't possessed by anyone or under someone else's influence. Her attack on the team was simply about revenge.

5. Iron-Man

Marvel events have been detrimental to some characters, with Civil War giving readers the most evil Iron Man ever. What makes Civil War Iron Man so evil is that all of his actions are his own. He sells out his own friends for power. He works with villains and builds a prison in the Negative Zone for his friends. When Iron Man takes over S.H.I.E.L.D., he makes it his mission to apprehend Luke Cage's New Avengers, to the extent he misses the Skrulls taking control of everything.

Iron Man's entire tenure as head of the Superhero Initiative was more about proving that he was right and putting everyone who disagreed with him in prison than anything else. He did things that made villains blush. There's literally no difference between Iron Man's reign and that of Norman Osborn's, which says everything about just how bad he was during this time.

4. Onslaught

The 90s contained some overrated X-Men villains, but none of them had the power of Onslaught. The villain made a splash right away, punching Juggernaut into Canada. Every subsequent time he showed up proved how powerful he was, and eventually, his true identity would become known. It was the last person anyone expected: Professor Charles Xavier.

Readers got more used to evil Xavier as the years went on, but for a long time, Onslaught was the epitome of evil Xavier. The monster was a composite of Magneto and Xavier, created when Xavier mindwiped his enemy. Onslaught almost destroyed the heroes of the Marvel Universe, proving how dangerous he is, and has since returned multiple times as an independent psychic parasite.

3. The Maker

The Ultimate Universe was a bold experiment. Earth-1610's superheroic history unfolded before modern readers' eyes, and eventually, the Fantastic Four made their appearance. They were great heroes, but when Sue Storm was killed during Magneto's attack on humanity, Reed Richards spiraled and became the evil Maker.

The Maker made the jump to the 616 universe and has battled many heroes. Richards in the 616 has always had a bit of an amoral side, but the Maker was a completely immoral monster. Losing the woman he loved broke him, and it was made even worse when the Maker realized things could've gone differently.

2. Weapon X as Apocalypse

Wolverine numbers among Marvel's most influential heroes and readers have been introduced to many great alternate-reality versions. A fan-favorite was The Age of Apocalypse version, Weapon X. After the defeat of Apocalypse, he rejoined the X-Men and helped them free the resurrected Jean Grey from Mister Sinister, reuniting with his lover.

However, things got bad again, and Weapon X found his world's Death Seed. Thinking he could handle the power, he took it. This was a massive mistake because it turned him into the new Apocalypse. The 616 X-Force helped the X-Men of his world fight against him, but Weapon X wouldn't be defeated until later.

1. Hydra Captain America

Marvel's twists aren't always successful, even if they do set the pop culture landscape on fire. Captain America revealing he was a member of Hydra was one such twist. Cap used his tactical know-how and position as a respected hero to take control of S.H.I.E.L.D., setting up a series of events that gave him control of the United States and reveal his loyalty to Hydra to the world.

Captain America used his position to create his own Avengers, including Odinson, Scarlet Witch, and the Vision, who worked with him to keep worse things from happening. He created camps for Inhumans and hunted down the people who used to be his friends. This twisted version of Cap showed just how terribly successful an evil Captain America could be.
